 Monthly Brunch Club: Wednesday 4/24, between 9am and 12noon.  Drivers needed

Mother's Day Home Visits: Wednesday 5/8 - Friday 5/10 between the hours of 9am and 5pm, and Saturday 5/11 from 10am until 12noon, come to our office to help deliver flowers and packages and make home visits to some of our elderly ladies.  Call to schedule a time.

Mother's Luncheon: Saturday 5/11, 11am-2pm.  Drivers needed to provide transportation for our elderly ladies.

Father's Day Home Visits: Wednesday 6/12 - Friday 6/14 between the hours of 9am and 5pm, and Saturday 6/15 from 10am until 12noon, come to our office to help deliver flowers and packages and make home visits to some of our elderly gentlemen.  Call to schedule a time.

Father's Luncheon: Saturday 6/15, 11am-2pm.  Drivers needed to provide transportation for our elderly gentlemen.

Lars Anderson Park Summer Picnic: Saturday 6/29, 11am-2pm.  Drivers needed to bring our elderly friends to the beautiful Lars Anderson Park on the Jamaica Plain/Brookline border.

Our motto, flowers before bread, reflects our belief that living is more than a roof over our heads and food on the table. In addition to offering material and physical support, we believe that living requires the presence of people who care about us and about whom we care.  Living requires the little touches that bring joy, like flowers, music and shared laughter.  Flowers before bread is the cornerstone of all of our year round programs.

 

Getting help with my medical appointments is vital, but I look at those beautiful yellow flowers and I remember the visit.  I touch them and smell them and I know that someone is thinking of me.  When I come home I see them and I know that I am not alone. – Michiko, 80 years old
