Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly is not a government sponsored or United Way agency: our work in Boston is possible only because of your generosity.
There are several ways you can help us serve our elderly friends.
You can remember someone’s birthday, anniversary, the death of a loved one, or any other special occasion you wish to commemorate by making a contribution in his or her name. We will send a note acknowledging this thoughtfulness to those whom you designate.
Working with your colleagues and community, you can organize a fundraising event such as a bowl-a-thon, a golf outing, dinner, or picnic. We welcome your ideas, your energy and your community spirit. Contact Martha Guerin for more inforation.
Your company or community group can sponsor activities and events for Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly. Your gift can underwrite a holiday party, a summer picnic, or a month of medical escorts to name just a few examples.
Check with your employeer about matching gifts – your contribution could go twice as far! And while we are not a United Way agency, if you participate in a workplace giving campaign you can designate Little Brothers to receive your contribution.
Bequests and Planned Gifts
Bequests are gifts provided by way of a will. By naming Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly, Boston as a beneficiary in your will or life insurance policy, you ensure that we will be able to serve lonely elderly people in your name far into the future. Contact Martha Guerin (link) for information.
Donations of office supplies and other items help us keep our overhead low. We also appreciate donation of in-kind services such as printing and transportation. During the Christmas Holiday season, organizing a ‘Giving Tree’ to provide gifts for our old friends would be a great project for you office. Contact René Morrissette for more information and to arrange your contributions.
You may organize food drives individually or with a church, school, or other group. By collecting nonperishable goods for our food pantry, you supplement meals for elders on a limited budget. Contact René Morrissette for more informtation.
